Telephone and TV Set
You have the possibility of making your stay a bit more entertaining by watching TV and by telephoning. Whilst the use of the TV set is free, the use of the telephone is a chargeable optional service. The charges are as follows:

Euro 1.50 base rate per day and
Euro 0.15 per unit telephoned.

In order to use these services, please proceed as follows:

in Sonneberg:
In the foyer, obtain a chip card from the main vending machine at a deposit of Euro 5.00 (in coins or banknotes).
Use the chip card to open an account, in which you pay a minimum amount of Euro 2.00.
Apart from the main vending machine, there are other vending machine (coins only) where you can top up your credit at any time. Our staff we will be please to direct you to the nearest vending machine.
Prior to your discharge from hospital, please hand in the telephone card at the main vending machine. Your deposit and any credit will be refunded.

Instructions on the use of the TV set and of the telephone are laid out in your room. If you have any questions or if you need any help, please get in touch with your staff members at the reception or in your ward.

in Neuhaus:
In Neuhaus, you will receive a telephone and a chip card at the reception under the same conditions. You will also receive your incoming telephone number here.
At the hospital of Neuhaus, a deposit of Euro 5.00 has to be paid for the use of the telephone as well, which will be refunded along with any credit upon your discharge.

If you want to telephone "outside of the hospital":
First dial a 0 and wait for the dialling tone.
If a pre-dialling code is required, please dial this code completely (with the appertaining 0, such as 03675 for Sonneberg). Then dial the requested telephone number.

Using the telephone inside the Sonneberg and Neuhaus hospitals:
For telephone calls within the hospital, i.e. to another ward or another fellow patient for example (also between Sonneberg and Neuhaus), you do not have to dial a 0. Just dial the three-digit or four-digit extension number. These calls are free.

Time Outside of the Hospital Room
If you want to leave the building, we kindly ask you to dress adequately. Please always inform the nurse in the ward, if you want to leave the ward so that she can harmonise times and examinations as well as doctor's calls with you.

Valuables
If possible, leave larger amounts of money, jewellery and valuables at home. Please send wallets, identity papers, cash, keys, etc. along with your relatives or deposit them in return for receipt at the reception.
The hospital management accepts no responsibility for valuables and money.
If, however, you are a victim of theft, we kindly ask you to report this to the police under all circumstances.

Visiting Times
We will be pleased, if friends and relatives come and visit you. Please welcome your visitors in your room or in the recreation area. During medical or nursing measures, we will ask the visitors to leave the room.
However, quiet is also part of convalescence. For this reason, please be aware of our visiting times (between 14:00 and 19:00 or harmonise any other times with our ward staff.
The closest relatives only are permitted for a short visit in the intensive care ward after consultation with the doctor or nurse.
